Francesco Maccapani Missoni
Francesco Maccapani Missoni, son of Angela Missoni and Marco Maccapani and grandson of Rosita and Ottavio Missoni, graduated in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic, after several years of internships between Milan and NYC, decides not become an architect as a profession, because the lead times for projects are too long for his character. However, architecture remains his passion, his aesthetic point of view. In 2013 with a friend he founded "Milano Venture Company" a startup that deals with digital. From 2018 is founding partner of "Notomia", an ecosystem that operates at the intersection of strategy, digital and finance. And from 2020 of Notomia Venture a VC focused on early stage. Passionate about cooking and very close to the family, in 2018 he published "The Missoni family cookbook with Assouline". In his free time he cultivated the passion for weaving small strips of colored paper and lately refined his projects, using frames as if they were looms and perfecting them with the search for a special final glaze. Thus begins his artistic production of magnetic and intriguing canvases that from April 2021 he has decided to bring to light and show in public.
He has since exhibited at Istanbul (Contemporary Istanbul), Miami (ArtBasel Miami), Milano, São Paulo, Firenze, Nizza and at Malpensa Airport (MaGa Gallarate). In 2023 he was awarded has Designer of the year from BOOMSPDESIGN an event of the São Paulo Design Week.
